CATALYST TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly raise temperature of a catalyst to activation temperature after start of an internal combustion engine in relation to a catalyst temperature control device for the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The catalyst temperature control device is provided with an electric motor 2 forcibly driving a crankshaft 14 of the internal combustion engine 10 from an outside and an exhaust gas passage valve 36 is arranged in a downstream of a catalyst 34 in an exhaust gas passage 32. When temperature of the catalyst 34 drops before start of the internal combustion engine 10, the exhaust gas passage valve 36 is closed and the internal combustion engine 10 is operated as a pump by forcibly driving the crankshaft 14 by the electric motor 2.
