PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stable opening and closing operation by preventing deformation of a connecting parts of a blade and an arm. SOLUTION: A focal plane shutter is provided with a columnar boss 3 in any one member of the blade 1, and the arms 2 and 2', is provided with a through hole 4 in the other member, inserts the boss 3 in the through hole 4, prevents unreasonable force from acting on the peripheral edge part of the through hole 4 in inserting the boss 3 by plastically deforming the edge of the boss 3 and connecting to form a fall prevention part 3a, and rotatably sandwiches the other member, between any one member of the blade 1 and the arms 2 and 2' and the fall prevention part 3a by centering the boss 3.
