PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight foamed inorganic building material which is made lightweight by using a small quantity of a foaming agent. SOLUTION: The lightweight foamed inorganic building material is obtained by forming and firing a raw material containing the foaming agent and an inorganic material, and is characterized in that the ratio of area occupied by pores having a size of≤1μm is≥20% and the ratio of area occupied by pores having a size of≥175μm is≥20% to total pore areas per unit area. The lightweight foamed inorganic building material such as a tile having high porosity of 20-60 volume% and sufficient strength is manufactured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
