PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the skidding of a rotary disk of a hopper unit. SOLUTION: The hopper motor of a hopper unit is driven, the output of a token dispensing sensor of the hopper unit is monitored, measurement by a timer is started from the time when the hopper motor is driven or from the time when the dispense of tokens is detected by the token dispensing sensor, error processing is carried out when the dispense of tokens is not detected by the token dispensing sensor for a period of time longer than a predetermined time. It is judged whether or not a slot machine reaches a specific game condition where tokens more than a normal condition are dispensed, and the threshold value of the timer is shortened by a timer setting section when the specific game condition is established.
