<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroponic device and a hydroponic method of root crops, each free from the need of transplantation of young seedlings, and improving a yield per unit area, compared to conventional soil cultivation. <P>SOLUTION: This hydroponic method of root crops comprises arranging nutrient solution 2 on the bottom of a cultivation container 1 which has a required depth and opened upper part, arranging a medium 3 made of a water-absorbing material from the nutrient solution 2 toward the upper opening of the cultivation container 1, planting a seedling on a prescribed position near the upper opening of the medium 3, and circulating the nutrient solution 2 in a condition of covering from the root part to the lower part of the seedling with a shading member 4. As a result of this, it is possible to extend root sprouting from the root part of the seedling to the inside of the medium 3 and grow tuberous root C arising from the root in a space S between the mediums 3 and 3 and the nutrient solution 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
