<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of forming an image high in quality by preventing a developer from staying partially in a developer storage chamber and uniforming the developer in the developer storage chamber. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes a stirring conveyance means which is disposed in the developer storage chamber 8a and conveys the developer containing a toner and a carrier while being stirred. The stir conveying means is formed from a plurality of screws 81 and 82 disposed adjacent to and parallel to each other so that their conveying directions are opposite to each other. The downstream ends of the screws in the corresponding developer conveying directions are used as transfer parts 8f where the developer is transferred to the corresponding adjacent screws.
