PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacking and conveying device for holding and conveying a plurality of articles in a stacked condition, capable of stably holding the articles with a simplified constitution. SOLUTION: The stacking and conveying device comprises eight flat belts 24A-24H running in each predetermined circulating passage parallel to each other. These flat belts are divided into a group of the first, third, fifth and seventh flat belts 24A, 24C, 24E, 24G, and a group of the second, fourth, sixth and eighth flat belts 24B, 24D, 24F, 24H, and a driving motor and holding units 25 for holding articles X in a stacked condition are provided in each group. In this case, a partition member in one holding unit 25 and bottom side members 42, 42 which are connected to a rear side of the partition member with the articles X being placed thereon are divided for the first, third, fifth and seventh flat belts 24A, 24C, 24E, 24G in the conveying width direction and coupled therewith so that the holding units 25 are brought close to/retracted from each other.
