PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed matter conveying device capable of preventing wear of a traveling roller by rolling the traveling roller of an endless chain holding printed matter and circulating a guide rail on the same traveling surface and turning constantly in the same direction. SOLUTION: The printed matter conveying device comprises a grip mechanism 13 having an adjustment blade 11 and a movable blade 12 with a gear 24 being fixed to a blade rotating shaft 23 for rotating the movable blade 12, a traveling roller pressing mechanism 14 in which a gear 25 to be engaged with the gear 24 of the blade rotating shaft 23 is provided on a horizontal rotary shaft 15 provided on a gripper body 5a, one end of an arm 16 with an arm-rotating roller 17 being provided on the other end thereof is fixed, and a coil spring 18 to urge the gripper 5 to a guide rail 1 side with one end thereof being fixed to a horizontal rotary shaft 15 and the other end thereof being fixed to the gripper body 5a is fitted, and an arm rotating guide rail 19 which is abutted on the arm rotating roller 17 to depress the arm 16.
