The clutch/brake (1) has a magnetic body (2) with an inner pole ring (4) and an outer pole ring (6). An armature (7) made of permanently magnetized material has a permanently magnetized hysteresis ring (9), and an intermediate pole ring (5) is arranged between the inner and the outer pole rings. The armature has auxiliary hysteresis ring (8), where the hysteresis rings (8, 9) are arranged in such a manner that magnetic field between the different pole rings (4, 5, 6) flow through each of the hysteresis rings.
