An apparatus for treating food waste is provided to prevent an odor of the food waste from being generated, by draining house wastewater and dehydrating, drying and pulverizing remaining food waste. A preventing film guides food waste, which is dropped through a water outlet of a kitchen sink, to a dry case, and prevents external particles from being inputted into the food waste. The dry case stores the food waste guided by the preventing film. A rotary shaft is vertically positioned at the center of the dry case, and rotated by a motor connected to a lower end thereof. A knife blade is positioned around the rotary shaft. The knife blade is moved upwardly and downwardly, and unfolded or folded by a centrifugal force. A rotary wing is positioned within the dry case, wherein the rotary wing generates hot air rotating in the opposite direction of the knife blade. A latch interferes with the rotary wing to be partially opened or closed, thereby opening or closing a bottom of the dry case. |
