<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader imaging a printed part under a hologram film clearly. <P>SOLUTION: When observing the printed part under the hologram film, the image reader uses a first polarizing plate 20 arranged in front of line-shaped illumination means 5 and 6 and a second polarizing plate 30 arranged between the illumination means 5 and 6 and a line-shaped imaging device 10. In this case, when the first polarizing plate 20 has a first polarization transmission axis extending in an almost vertical direction with respect to an imaging line L and the second polarizing plate 30 has a second polarization transmission axis extending almost parallel to the imaging line L, a hologram can be eliminated when the hologram is imaged to thereby surely confirm printed characters, a printed image pattern, or the like of the printed part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
