PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element receiving body, a manufacturing method thereof, and a light emitting device capable of improving the light-emitting efficiency and capable of suppressing the diffusion of the light emitted upwardly from the light-emitting element.

SOLUTION: In the light-emitting element receiving body 11, a recess 18 is provided for receiving the light-emitting element 12. The side faces 18B and 18C of the recess 18 are vertical planes which are nearly perpendicular to the bottom face 18A of the recess 18, and the other side faces 18D-18G are inclined planes for reflecting the light from the light emitting element 12 upwardly from the light emitting element 12.
