<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat resistance of a metallic oxide particle while inhibiting the increase of the particle diameter of the metallic oxide particle, in a manufacturing method of a catalyst-bearing particle bearing a catalytic component on the surface of the metallic oxide particle, and to provide a manufacturing method of a catalytic material using the catalyst-bearing particle. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst-bearing particle and the catalytic object are manufactured using a γ-alumina particle (or an alumina precursor particle) to which a hydrothermal treatment is applied with the help of an autoclave. The shape change of the alumina particle when the catalytic material is used at high temperatures of close to 1,000°C, is inhibited by applying the hydrothermal treatment to the γ-alumina particle (or the alumina precursor particle).
