<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load detector of a bed having superior load detection performance. <P>SOLUTION: This load detector 1 is provided with a base plate part 2 mounted on a bed installation face, a cantilever part 5 approximately horizontally supported to the base plate part 2 in an upward separated state from the bed installation face, a mounting board part 7 disposed at the tip part 5b of the cantilever part 5, and a strain detection sensor 8 detecting the strain of the cantilever part 5. Leg parts of the bed are mounted on the mounting board part 7. The strain detection sensor 8 outputs a signal used for the detection of a load applied to the leg parts of the bed. The cantilever part 5 is formed of a stretched material. The mounting board part 7 is formed of a casting material.
