PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical element to be constituted by arraying many pixels of slender shapes on a substrate by using an ink-jet printer, in which method the resolution of the optical element is improved by stably discharging ink to the space (the pitch) between a specified pixel constituting a striped pattern of the optical element and the pixel which is adjacent to the specified pixel and has the same color as that of the specified pixel. SOLUTION: The optical element is manufactured by repeating a unit step of determining a plurality of discharge positions different from one another in each pixel of the optical element in the longitudinal direction of the pixel, specifying each of the plurality of nozzles as a natural number n by counting them successively from the edge of the pixel, dividing the natural number n by the repeating frequency (a) to obtain the remainder b (b is an integer satisfying 0≤b<(a-1)), corresponding the remainder b to each of a plurality of nozzles and discharging ink from the nozzle corresponding to the remainder b to print the pixel.
