PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which is used for introducing a surgical instrument through a seal assembly in a more efficient and effective manner. SOLUTION: The seal assembly 100 is provided which comprises a seal housing 102 for defining a longitudinal housing axis to have a longitudinal opening 104 passing the longitudinal housing axis, a seal 118 for defining a passageway and has an inner side seal part adapted to form a substantial seal around the surgical instrument disposed in the passageway, and a guide 124 attached to the proximal end of the seal housing.
