PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic having high cell growth promotion action by controlling aging such as skin wrinkles, flabbiness, etc., caused by function reduction at a cell level following aging and no offensive smell. SOLUTION: The cosmetic comprises an extract obtained by removing an essential oil component from an extract prepared by extracting Eugenia aromatica with a lower alcohol and/or water or an extract prepared by extracting Eugenia aromatica, from which an essential oil component is previously removed, with a lower alcohol and/or water.
