PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boxing apparatus designed so that when a plurality of numbers of parallel items to be accommodated are supplied to an aligning conveyor, the accommodated states of the stored number of items to predetermined positions in an accommodating part can be detected. SOLUTION: The boxing apparatus has a plurality of light shielding type detectors 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, and a controlling device. A plurality of the light shielding type detectors 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B are disposed so that the outer peripheral side of an arc M formed by connecting the extension ends of a series of partitions 10 disposed in an inverting section 16E is disposed with detection optical paths L1 and L2 extending in the direction of a tangent at a storing position R so as to be parallel to each other in a horizontal direction.
