Disclosed is a biodegradable resin composition containing a biodegradable polyester resin mainly composed of either of an a- and/or ß-hydroxycarboxylic acid unit and an ?-hydroxyalkanoate unit, a layered silicate, and a fatty acid ester composed of a dehydration condensation product of a sugar alcohol and a fatty acid. This biodegradable resin composition has heat resistance, while having high transparency and less agglomerates, thereby maintaining good appearance.
