<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide containing a sulfonic acid group which can realize a polymer electrolyte film having not only both low methanol permeability and high proton conductivity, but also high heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In this invention, a diamine residue represented by general formula (II), wherein at least a part of W is -R-SO<SB>3</SB>H (R is an alkyl group); R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are, i.e., an alkyl group or a hydrogen atom; R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>6</SP>, and R<SP>7</SP>are, i.e., an alkyl group or a hydrogen atom; X is, i.e., -CH<SB>2</SB>-; and n is an integer of 1 or greater, is introduced to a repeating unit of a polyimide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
