POLYIMIDE CONTAINING SULFONIC ACID GROUP, COMPOSITION USING IT, POLYMER ELECTROLYTE FILM, AND FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide containing a sulfonic acid group which can realize a polymer electrolyte film having not only both low methanol permeability and high proton conductivity, but also high heat resistance.

SOLUTION: In this invention, a diamine residue represented by general formula (II), wherein at least a part of W is -R-SO3H (R is an alkyl group); R1, R2and R3are, i.e., an alkyl group or a hydrogen atom; R4, R5, R6, and R7are, i.e., an alkyl group or a hydrogen atom; X is, i.e., -CH2-; and n is an integer of 1 or greater, is introduced to a repeating unit of a polyimide.
