<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently maintain power generating function in a fuel cell in a low temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 10 is provided with an electrolyte membrane 110; a catalyst layer 112 in contact with the electrolyte membrane 110; a diffusion layer 120 provided on an opposite side to the electrolyte layer 110 regarding the catalyst layer 112; and a separator provided on an opposite side to the catalyst layer 112 regarding the diffusion layer 120, and composing an outer shell of a gas flow path 22. Furthermore, at least one of the composing elements of the catalyst layer 112, the electrolyte membrane 110, the diffusion layer 120, and the separator contains water absorption heat generation material 120t which can generate heat by absorbing moisture and can become a heat generating possible state by discharging the moisture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
