摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic clutch capable of adhering a cushioning material to a friction surface while preventing deterioration of a surface treatment layer and reliably suppressing noise generated when a friction plate is pressed against a pulley, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The electromagnetic clutch has the rotatingly-driven pulley and the friction plate capable of being pressed against the pulley, and transmits power from the pulley side to the friction plate side by friction generated when the friction surface of the friction plate is pressed against the friction surface of the pulley. In the electromagnetic clutch, the cushioning material for reducing the pressing speed of the friction plate is embedded in at least either the pulley or the friction plate under such a condition that a cushioning surface of the cushioning material is projected from the friction surface.
