<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door latch device for a vehicle, capable of improving strength, by improving a fastening position of a fastening means for fixing a base means to an opening-closing body. <P>SOLUTION: This door latch device has a baseplate 8 having a striker intruding groove capable of intruding a striker arranged in a car body, by fastening and fixing both side installation object parts 81 and 82 mutually separating by a predetermined quantity in the hinge axis direction C to an installation surface of the opening-closing body by the fastening means 5, 81a and 82a, a latch 10 pivoted on the baseplate 8 by a latch pivot 20 in the substantially right-angled direction to the hinge axis direction and the striker intruding direction and capable of meshing with the striker 4 in a closing position of the opening-closing body, and a ratchet 11 pivoted on the baseplate 8 by a ratchet pivot 21 parallel to the latch pivot 20 and checking its rotational movement by engaging with the latch 10. A meshing part E of the latch 10 and the striker 4 is substantially matched with a straight line L1 of connecting the mutual centers of the fastening means 5, 81a and 82a in both side installation object parts 81 and 82 in a plan view viewed from the striker intruding direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
