PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll type fluid machine capable of detecting an abrasion amount of a tip seal, capable of grasping suitable replacement time, and exhibiting high efficiency at a low running cost. SOLUTION: A thermometer 70 is provided on an outside of a fixed scroll case 21, and a temperature detecting part 71 is inserted into a through hole 21a of the fixed scroll case 21. A part near a right end of the temperature detecting part 71 is arranged in a fluid chamber 20a, and the right end is arranged with a slight spaceδfrom an outer edge of a turning scroll 30. When abrasion of the tip seals 23 and 33 progresses and the turning scroll 30 approaches a fixed scroll 20, the temperature detecting part 71 is brought into contact with the outer edge of the turning scroll 30, the temperature of the temperature detecting part 71 is raised by frictional heat, and the abrasion of the tip seals 23 and 33 can be confirmed by the thermometer 70 as the rise of the temperature in the temperature detecting part 71.
