PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a channel in synchronism with channel selection that a specified person performs with another receiving device. SOLUTION: A television receiver 1 can perform channel selection synchronized with channel selection of a television receiver 2 under the control of a server 4. Namely, a user A sets a synchronous channel selection mode wherein a user B is designated as an opposite side of synchronization, and makes the television receiver 1 select the same channel as a channel selected by the television receiver 2 that the user B controls to view the same channel as the channel that the user B is viewing.
