PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem on operation and control, when using a magnetic tape device in a secondary site. SOLUTION: A method includes simulatively moving an emulated tape to a second element from a first element without actually moving data associated with the emulated tape, and archives data in a second disk base storage device from a storage device of a first disk base. The data associated with the emulated tape is transmitted via a communication link to the second disk base storage device from the first disk base storage device.
