PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for determining disturbance compensation and a disk drive using the same. SOLUTION: The apparatus for determining disturbance compensation includes: a disturbance observer 1000 for inputting a control input signal controlling a plant and a servo output signal corresponding to the control input signal and estimating a disturbance value applied to the plant; a disturbance evaluator 270 for accumulating an absolute value of the disturbance value estimated by the disturbance observer 1000 within a constant frequency, evaluating the accumulated disturbance estimation value under an initialized condition, and determining an on/off mode shift for a disturbance compensation; and a switching means 280 for switching a feedback on/off of the disturbance value estimated by the disturbance observer 1000 to a control loop of the plant based on the determination of the on/off mode shift for the disturbance compensation.
