PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image display that can prevent disappearance of grayscale change due to reduction in the grayscale number when a monochromatic image of a high grayscale number is displayed on a color display having a low grayscale number. SOLUTION: Upon displaying a single grayscale level, subpixels possessed by a color display are used in such a way that one or two subpixels are displayed in an increased grayscale by one level and that the subpixels to have an increased grayscale by one level are selected according to the relation between colors and human recognition on luminance changes.
