PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine and a sewing machine operating program with an improved operability for displaying and selecting a desired display item. SOLUTION: A page switching treatment switches display items displayed on a liquid crystal display provided on a sewing machine on a per-page basis. In the case where several pages are memorized (S20: Yes), the displaying order of display items currently being displayed can be obtained (S30) when an output signal of the operation where a mouse wheel rotates forward or backward is detected (S10). Consequently, the output signal detected at S10 is detected: in the case where the mouse wheel rotates forward (S40: Yes), the displaying order of the pages is increased by 1 (S70), and in the case where the mouse wheel rotates backwards (S90: Yes), the displaying order of the pages is reduced by 1 (S120).
