PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable rice cooker which hardly degrades rice cooking performance by preventing the starting of rice cooking with an inner lid fixed at a position or in a state other than a prescribed position. SOLUTION: A closing preventing means 15 is provided to prevent a lid 3 from closing by the inner lid 4 when the lid 3 closes with the inner lid 4 in a self-standing state. As the result, the rice cooker can not start cooking rice since the lid 3 is not closed when the inner lid 4 is not completely fixed at the prescribed position, and the leakage of steam during the rice cooking is reduced.
