The invention concerns a pyrotechnic device for destroying ammunitions (10) by an explosive (36) surrounding the ammunition at least partially and comprising walls (12) for confining the active components (14). The device comprises controlled ignition means (C11, C12, C21, C22) of the explosive, wherein said means are configured such that they cause a coupling of detonation waves of the explosive at the ammunition walls along at least two opening lines of said ammunition walls. Application: controlled destruction of ammunitions or objects containing pyrotechnic and/ or chemical substances.
