A sound deadening louver is provided to secure air permeability and to have sound insulating efficiency by installing plural blades on the edge of a vent formed in a wall in the shape of Venetian doors. A sound deadening louver(1) is used for receiving and reducing noise waves passed through an opening of a wall by installing plural blades on the edge of vents formed in a wall in the shape of Venetian doors, wherein each blade(4) comprises a main body casing(5) formed in a hollow housing structure having a space of the fixed capacity, an opening(9) formed on one side of the main body casing to be opposite to vents(3) formed in a frame(2), a sound deadening chamber(11) formed by attaching sound absorbing materials(10) to an internal wall of the hollow housing of the main body casing to introduce noise waves to the sound deadening chamber through the vents of the frame and the opening of the main body and to reduce noise energy, a first reflecting plate(14) made of a plate member having a curved cross section and extended from the edge(9a) of the opening to the inside of the sound deadening chamber to contact and reflect the noise waves exhausted from the vents to be introduced into the sound deadening chamber, and a second reflecting plate(12) made of a plate member having a flat cross section and extended from the edge of the opening to the inside of the sound deadening chamber, wherein noise waves passed through the vents are introduced to the sound deadening chamber through the first reflecting plate and the second reflecting plate attached to the openings of the blades and reflected repeatedly in the sound deadening chamber, thereby to reduce sound pressure.
