<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive antioxidant composition which exerts a high antioxidant effect and does not deteriorate the taste of food and drink, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The antioxidant composition containing an extract obtained through solvent extraction of rambutan pericarp with an extraction solvent chosen from the group consisting of water, a water-soluble organic solvent and a mixed solvent thereof exerts a high antioxidant effect and can be prepared at a low cost.
