<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability in forming an ABS position signal by detecting an error of pseudorandom code detection using a minimum of codes without adding a redundant code as well as by allowing correction. <P>SOLUTION: A displacement detecting encoder includes: a scale provided with a position code containing position information; a detection member which is disposed so as to allow relative displacement with respect to the scale and detects at least a portion of the position code provided in the scale; and a processing unit which outputs position information by processing of the portion of the position code detected in the detection unit, wherein the encoder detects the presence of error information by evaluating the detected position code by a means which forms a position code. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
