<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a member retaining a porous member by insert molding. <P>SOLUTION: When manufacturing a molded article by insert molding, a porous member 10 with a cylindrical member 20 outwardly fitted to the peripheral edge part of the porous member, is set in a mold 40. Thus a molded member 30 of such a shape that it is in non contact with the porous member 10 and closely attached to the outer surface of the cylindrical member 20, is molded. Therefore, it comes that a cut-off position (a first cut-off surface is 45A and a second cut-off surface is 45B) of the mold 40, is set on the outer surface of the cylindrical member 20, and consequently, there is no fear of infiltration of a liquid resin into a gap in the porous member 10 during insert molding.
