PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for transmitting operation sound of an internal combustion engine of an automobile free in lay-out thereof. SOLUTION: The device for transmitting operation sound of an internal combustion engine of an automobile related to operating condition of the internal combustion engine of the automobile to occupants comprises a sound pressure sensor 1 arranged inside an intake pipe 10 or suction ports 14 and 16 of the internal combustion engine to convert the intake air discharge sound of the internal combustion engine to an electric signal, an operating condition detecting means 3 for detecting the amount of operation of an accelerator pedal of the vehicle as an accelerator opening signal, a control means 5 for outputting the electric signal from the sound pressure sensor 1 by increasing/decreasing it in response to the accelerator opening signal from the operating condition detecting means 3, and an output means 4 arranged inside an engine room or a cabin and driven in response to the output signal from the control means 5 to output it as the operation sound of the internal combustion engine.
