PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an assist grip structure for an automobile devised so that a seated person on a rear seat center of the automobile can hold it at a proper position, it can be arranged even when an installing part such as an overhead console, a room mirror, a duct of an air conditioning facility, a spit hole, etc. is arranged and it does not come to be a projected article. SOLUTION: A recessed part 3b is formed on an automobile rear end part of the overhead console 3 installed on a molded ceiling 1 constituting a ceiling part of the automobile, an assist grip 6 is mounted on the overhead console 3 in a state positioning a holding part 6a of the assist grip 6 so as to bridge over the recessed part 3b and it is arranged at a position where the holding part 6a approaches and faces against a rear seat central part on the molded ceiling 1.
