A torque converter is provided to protect a one-way clutch and to reduce the number of components by changing a stator structure. A torque converter includes a one-way clutch(9), a stator(10), a thrust bearing(11), and a protective plate(10a). The one-way clutch comes in contact with one side of the torque converter. The stator is mounted in the torque converter. The thrust bearing is installed between the stator and the torque converter. The protective plate is extended in a lower part of the stator in order to protect the other side of the one-way clutch. An extended plate(10b) is formed at a lower end of the protective plate. The extended plate is protruded to the outside.
