<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion module and a connector for high-speed transmission that can be made compact, as regards the module and the connector particularly relating to those that combine an electric communication line with an optical communication line. <P>SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion module includes a circuit board, a light emitting element, a drive IC for driving the light emitting element, a light receiving element, a receiver IC for receiving signals from the light receiving element, and a waveguide member for optically coupling to the light emitting element and the light receiving element. The module is characterized in that the light emitting element, drive IC, light receiving element, and receiver IC are composed of bare chips and mounted on the circuit board in the form of bare chips as they are, that the waveguide member is arranged in the manner covering the light emitting element, drive IC, light receiving element, and receiver IC and sealed in the periphery of the member with resin, and that the light emitting element, drive IC, light receiving element, and receiver IC are thereby sealed with the waveguide member and the resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
