PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve gear capable of securing lubrication of each sliding part with a simple structure without constructing a complicated lubrication mechanism. SOLUTION: Oil is supplied toward a thrust bearing part 6 from a worm wheel end surface 5 via oil passages 21a, 21c formed in a control shaft 21 and oil passages 4a, 4b formed in the worm wheel 4 in a variable valve gear 1 controlling rotary position of the control shaft 21 with using an electric motor 12, a worm gear 8 and the worm wheel 4. The oil is scattered out of a gap between the worm wheel end surface 5 and the thrust bearing part 6, and the scattered oil is supplied to a meshing part of the worm wheel 4 and the worm gear 8.
