PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically reduce the emission of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and smoke from a gas turbine engine by supplying liquid fuel containing biomass fuel to a regular gas turbine for natural gas simultaneously with the natural gas. SOLUTION: The gas turbine engine includes a means for supplying the liquid fuel containing plant oil methyl ester as a component to a combustor 7 simultaneously with the natural gas and a means for heating the fuel within a supply system 23 for supplying the liquid fuel to the combustor 7 and within a fuel nozzle 3 so that the temperature of the liquid fuel exceeds a flow point thereof and reaches a level such that there occurs no coking. The gas turbine engine supplies compressed air supplied to a premixing nozzle 5, the natural gas and the liquid fuel that have been mixed to the combustor 7 for combustion, and supplies the generated combustion gas to the turbine 12 so as to generate power. By using the heated plant oil methyl ester in the liquid fuel and employing the lean premix combustion type combustor for natural gas, it is possible to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide, smoke and nitrogen oxide.
