PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical material constituted of a hydrogenated product of a ring-opening copolymer of tetracyclododecene with methano-tetrahydrofluorene that has a high solubility in a common organic solvent such as cyclohexane at room temperature and exhibits satisfactory flowability and low birefringence as an optical material. SOLUTION: The hydrogenated product of the tetracyclododecene-containing ring-opening copolymer comprises 10-95 mol% of a recurring unit (A) derived from tetracyclododecene and 5-90 mol% of a recurring unit (B) derived from methano-tetrahydrofluorene in the molecule, where the ratio of the racemo-diad to the meso-diad (racemo-diad/meso-diad) in the recurring unit (A) is 65/35-100/0. The optical resin material comprises the hydrogenated product of the tetracyclododecene-containing ring-opening polymer. The optical molded product is obtained by molding the optical resin material.
