PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas appliance monitoring apparatus capable of easily altering comparison reference data for the determination of appliances, according to the increase and decrease in the number of gas appliances being used at home. SOLUTION: In a gas meter 2, the gas appliance monitoring apparatus comprises a flow quantity measuring means 12; a registration storage means 16 for storing flow quantity patterns for determining the types or use forms of gas appliances; an appliance determination means 24 for determining the gas appliances used or their use forms, by comparing the flow quantity patterns of the registration storage means 16 with values of quantity of flow of gas measured at the flow quantity measuring means 12; an appliance-by-appliance monitoring means 21 for monitoring the usage state for each item, previously classified according to services provided by gas providers; and a classification item selection means 33 for selecting classification items corresponding to the provided services. When there is a request for data, corresponding to the services provided by the gas providers, the usage state data for the appliance monitoring means 21 is outputted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
