PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the capacity of a print buffer constant by depending neither on output resolution nor on the number of colors. SOLUTION: In a printing apparatus wherein a plurality of printing heads having a plurality of nozzles in a sub-scanning direction are arranged in the main scanning direction corresponding to each of color members, the image processing apparatus outputs moving data for moving respective printing heads. The image processing apparatus further comprises a color-resolution part 304 for resolving imaging data on which color-space conversion processing has been performed, into density data for each of the color members, the print buffer 305 for accumulating a pre-determined amount of density data, a quantization part 306 for converting each of the density data into the resolution and the tonal number, as the moving data, and an output means which outputs each of the density data converted by the quantization part 306, as the moving data, for each of the color members, to the printing heads.
