PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot press which is simple in composition and can improve the parallelism without hindering the movement of a movable platen. SOLUTION: The hot press comprises a fixed platen 1 and the movable platen 2 which are arranged oppositely, a heating means which heats a material R, a pressure tightening means 3 which pressurizes the material R between the fixed platen 1 and the movable platen 2, a direct drive means 4 which moves straightly in the perpendicular direction to the opposed surfaces of the fixed platen 1 and the movable platen 2 and guides the movable platen 2 to approach/be separated from the fixed platen 1, and a combination means 5 which combines the direct drive means 4 and the movable platen 2. The combination means 5 includes a shaft 50 which is fixed to either one of the direct drive means 4 and the movable platen 2 to extend perpendicularly to the movement direction of the direct drive means 4 and a bush 51 which is installed in the other of the direct drive means 4 and the movable platen 2 and inserted slidably into the shaft 50 and is arranged at a position on a diagonal line D corresponding to each angle part of the movable platen 2.
