PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a substrate for a lithographic printing plate which obtains the substrate for the lithographic printing plate by using materials including used and/or unused lithographic printing plates and which is excellent in melting properties of the materials. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the substrate for the lithographic printing plate has a fragmenting process wherein the materials including the used and/or unused lithographic printing plates are fragmented into small pieces, a melting process wherein the materials fragmented into small pieces are melted in a melting furnace so as to obtain molten aluminum, a casting process wherein an aluminum alloy plate is obtained from the molten aluminum and a surface treatment process wherein the aluminum alloy plate is subjected to surface treatment so as to obtain the substrate for the lithographic printing plate.
