PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trousers for suppressing external inguinal hernia without feeling wear or tightness while wearing it, which does not hinder putting on of clothes and which suppresses ptosis of the intestine effectively. SOLUTION: The underwear 1 for suppressing external inguinal hernia which can be worn like a trousers has: a ring-formed waist part 2; a front section 3 extending downward from a lower edge of the front side of the waist part 2; and a rear section 4 extending downward from a lower edge of the rear side of the waist part 2 and whose lower end is connected with the lower end of the front section 3. The front section 3 is provided at a position nearer to the right or left side from the center position 2a of a width of the front side of the waist part 2. On the rear surface of the front section 3, a pocket part 5 whose upper edge is opened is provided, and a hernia projection pressurizing member 6 like a disk etc. is housed in the pocket part 5. When the trousers is used, by pulling operation of the rear section 4 which is shorter and narrower than the front section 3, the front section 3 is pulled up and the hernia projection pressurizing member 6 is pressed up to an affected part.
