PROCESS FOR PRODUCING COMPOSITE METAL OXIDE

It is a process for producing a composite metal oxide of an acid metal oxide with a basic metal oxide comprising the steps of: (a) providing an aqueous solution containing colloidal particles of an acid metal oxide and a salt of a basic metal; (b) obtaining a precursor of a composite metal oxide by adjusting the pH of this aqueous solution to a value such that a portion of the basic metal dissolves in the aqueous solution, the residual portion of the basic metal is deposited to have a positive zeta potential, and the colloidal particles of the acid metal oxide do not dissolve to have a negative surface potential, and maintaining this pH value throughout a predetermined time period; and (c) drying and baking the obtained precursor of the composite metal oxide.
