A METHOD, SYSTEM AND THE SERVER SIDE OF THE SYSTEM FOR DISCOVERING THE PATH COMPUTATION ELEMENT

A method for discovering the path computation element (PCE) ensures that only the clients which have the path computation request participate in the procedure of discovering the PCE and achieve the dynamic discovery of PCE easily. The bandwidth and resource are saved. The mechanism of PCE discovering is achieved within domain/between domains. The expansibility of PCE is increased and the network is arranged more easily. A server side in the system for discovering the path computation element collects and stores the PCE information via the specific server side. When the server side receives the PCE query request from the client, the server side returns the PCE information to the client, whereby the dynamic discovering is achieved. Additionally, the dynamic discovering for other domains is achieved by the interaction between different domains; the security of the PCE discovering mechanism is improved by the way of authentication.
