<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the temperature of a conveying belt from unevenly rising by heat generated by a fixing device in an image forming apparatus utilizing an electrophotographic system. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is the image forming apparatus where the conveying belt 21 is separated from a photoreceptor drum 11 and made to travel at least at a part in a period when a transfer unit 20 does not perform transfer. By making the conveying belt 21 travel, the area of the conveying belt 21 coming close to the fixing device 30 is changed at every fixed time, so that all the area of the conveying belt 21 evenly receives the heat generated by the fixing device 30, and the temperature of the conveying belt 21 becomes uniform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
